Position Summary
The Technical Content Writer (TCW) role is for individuals who are creative and have an innovative way of presenting varied content and is adept at both intensive research and extensive writing. The primary responsibility of a Technical Content Writer will be to help the author complete a book by rewriting specific sections/chapters of a book.
They will not be expected to write an entire book from scratch but just to fill the gaps in the already written content to help us publish the book quickly. This is a support role for the editor and the author. A TCW is required to possess advanced proficiency in English language with zeal to self-learn and keep them abreast with various emerging IT trends.
Responsibilities and Accountability:
Edit, re-write, or standardize the content written by authors or established personnel as per Packt standards.
Assist the editors in completing unfinished and complicated books.
Research on the assigned technologies comprehensively in quick time to learn and produce quality content.
Use flowcharts, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
The scope of the tasks assigned may also cover the following areas:
Video Scripting to help the Video department in their tasks.
Writing small books from scratch which generally covers the essentials of the technology in a nutshell.
Writing books from scratch on core as well as niche technologies (only if they have the required skills).
