Job Description:

Job Summary: Design, develop and support real time embedded software applications for Train Control products for Wabtec Railway Electronics, a leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Analysis, design and development of software for real-time embedded train control applications on Linux platform using embedded C

• Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring and documenting software for safety systems per safety-critical software development processes

• Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to ensure efficiency and save program logic and data manipulation

• Work independently or with a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the schedule and budget constraints

• Facilitate support for fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities during system integration and validation testing

• Support customer test activities through troubleshooting and root cause analysis. 

• Make independent technical contributions in support of program objectives as well as interacting with customers and other Wabtec personnel

Requirements:

• BE in Software Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science

• 2+ years of embedded software development

• 2+ years of C language programming experience

• Experience developing software in a Linux Development Environment (e.g. Eclipse)

• Familiarity with embedded softwaresafety systems

• Familiarity with a safety system software development process

• Good technical writing skills for development of design documentation

• Familiarity with script-based and automated unit testing

• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work within a large development team

• Good customer support skills to be able to debug issues at customer sites

Company Description:
